Cultivated in the heart of our pristine native broadleaf woodland at Coed Talylan on the western edge of the Brecon Beacons/Bannau Brychienog National Park, these Turkey Tail mushrooms are grown naturally on hardwood logs, then harvested, dried under sterile conditions, and frozen to ensure the highest quality and long term vitality. We use only organic inputs — no imported product, no compromise.
Why this product stands out
• Woodland-grown in Wales on hardwood logs: the mushrooms develop in a natural environment, ensuring integrity and traceability.
• Processed to high standards: after harvesting, the fruit bodies are dried and frozen to reduce risk of contamination and preserve their structure.
• Fresh stock: we guarantee the product is less than four months from harvest when shipped — freshness you can trust.
• Clear provenance: many other mushroom products are imported from overseas where quality controls vary. Ours are grown, processed and dispatched from the UK.
About Turkey Tail
Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) has been valued for centuries across Asia and Europe for its wellness-associated potential. The colourful, fan-shaped caps (often brown, orange, maroon, greenish) give the species its common name — reminiscent of a turkey’s tail feathers.
Modern research from Japan and beyond has focused on its polysaccharides (such as PSK and PSP), which are associated with immune-modulating activity.
How to use & enjoy
• Make a decoction: Simmer approx 2–3 g of the dried whole mushrooms in hot water for about an hour (or longer) to extract the beneficial compounds.
• Brewing tea: Pour 10 g into ~2 litres of water, simmer and drink over the day. Some choose to make a second weaker brew from the same batch.
• Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place in an airtight container to preserve potency and prevent moisture or contamination.
