Fungi Day at Coed Talylan
Join us at Coed Talylan on Saturday 11th October for a day devoted to the hidden world of fungi.
The day will begin with a fungal foray through the woods and meadows, guided by experienced eyes, to explore the remarkable diversity of mushrooms and other fungi growing at this time of year. We will look closely at identification features, ecology, and the important roles fungi play in woodland restoration and soil health.
After the foray, there will be a chance to examine specimens under our microscopy equipment. This is an opportunity to see spores, gills, and other fungal structures in detail – opening up a whole new perspective on the fungal kingdom.
The afternoon will include an introduction to the Refungium project, our long-term initiative to establish the first dedicated fungal nature reserve in Wales. We will share the vision, progress so far, and how people can get involved in supporting and shaping the project.
