Thanks to the Land Workers Alliance we are running a subsidised weekend introduction to mushroom cultivation courses for small to medium scale farmers and horticultural enterprise.
There are 8 places on thecourse and applications are open to members of the Land Workers Alliance who are have some level of horticultural enterprise and/or residents of a One Planet Development holding. We are looking for applicants who have already considered mushroom cultivation as a diversification strategy for their business and would like to use this opportunity to adopt a mushroom cultivation growing scheme.
The objective is to improve resilience in local food provision. We hope that by offering this training to those already running a food growing enterprise we can increase local food production and empower these growers to help spread the knowledge of mushroom culivation in their region.
During the two day course participants will gain practical experience of all aspects of mushroom cultivation applicable to a wide variety of gourmet and medicinal mushroom species. We will also provide 3 hours consultation support after the course for developing growing schemes and help facilitate ongoing communictaion between the course participants.
The cost for the full weekend course including food and option to camp is only £40 but there is a screening questionaire to help us choose the candidates most likely to achieve the outcomes of the project.
If you would like to apply please complete the questionaire and booking form by following the link below:
