We all know that “mushrooms” appear this time of year and Maria is going to tell us how they are much more than we think – and potentially that they aren’t really mushrooms. We will find out how this stranger-than-fiction kingdom is part of so many aspects of our lives and the journey will take us back to the dawn of life on earth, look into to the future and will be stopping off at unexpected locations like rock music, new Zealand pavements, the Welsh coalfields and will have guest appearances by Tom Jones and some Zombies. You’ll never look at a humble “mushroom” in the same way.
