Many thanks to all those who attended our Fungal foray on the 8th September. We were very fortunate to have feild Mycologist Attila Fodi to lead us around aproximately 3 acres of the Refungium where we found and indentifed 36 species of fungi (see spreadsheet below).

We would also like to thank Maria Golightly of the Bannau Brycheiniog Local Nature Partnership who kindly presented eher Weird World of Fungi talk in the afternoon.

Below we have some pictures from the day and if you would like to see the list of species there is a link to download a spreadsheet. This list was compiled by Atilla Fodi, again our deepest gratitude here to Atilla, he has even added the translation of the common names in Cymraeg. Below you can also find translations of descriptive terms of fungal ecology.

As part of the Refungium project we hope to be able to run regular forays to share experience and skills in fungal identification while helping us to create an extensive survey of the 30 acres of woodland that will ecompass this fungal conservation initiative.

If this project is of interest to you there is more information here “Refungium” and  we have short questionairre if you would like to make any suggestions or comments:
